Last Sunday we celebrated Father's day. For others it was a simple father's day, for many, it was a simple Sunday. For us, it was a Father and Son day. Request nya dati swimming. Pero last summer vacation dalawang swimming ang dinaluhan nya, so he opted for Star City.
Muntik pa nga mapurnada dahil we have to pay numerous bills and bought them PE uniforms. Two days before his birthday sabi ko, "Darel (my son's name) baka di tayo matuloy ng Star City kasi marami tayong dapat bayaran ngayon at bilhin para sa school mo." The moment i utter those words umiyak na siya. Hayys, it sadden me most to see my son's dream be torn apart and the cruel part of it ako pa yung mag bebreak "deymn". After some minutes with her mom and a lot of convincing and "pambubola" Darel agreed for a cinema weekend and a buffet dinner sa mall.
That night which was 19th of June (Friday). I was watching the news when they announced that Star City will be having a Father's Day promo. Just bring birth certificate of my kids and they will be giving 50% off on all access ticket, that will also include me. I message my wife sa office and ask her to call Star City to confirm. I ask my kids which Sunday blow out ang gusto nila. Syempre unanimous decision ang Star City. The rest is not just history but rather a tiresome, gruesome yet funfilled and heartwarming night for the rest of us.
Before we go to sleep last Sunday night I ask my kids if they have enjoyed everything. Their smile and their thank you were enough for me to say "we did it"
